Makeup brushes are indispensable tools for achieving flawless and professional makeup. A good set of makeup brushes can make all the difference in the quality of the final result, ensuring precise and even application of products even for the less experienced. Let's explore together the different types of brushes, how best to use them and how to keep them in perfect condition.

Face Brushes: Foundation, Blush and Illuminant

Foundation Brushes
Foundation brushes are designed to apply the face base evenly. There are different types of foundation brushes, including the flat brush, kabuki brush and duo fiber brush. The flat brush is ideal for full coverage, while the kabuki brush is perfect for a more natural effect. The duo fiber brush, on the other hand, allows you to build coverage layer by layer, offering an airbrush-like finish.
Blush brushes
Blush brushes, are usually rounded and soft, designed to apply blush to the cheeks in a gentle, blended way. Using a good blush brush ensures that the product is distributed evenly, avoiding annoying color smudges. We recommend applying the blush in circular motions, blending upward. It intensifies the color by layering it.
Illuminant Brushes
Illuminant brushes feature soft, lightweight bristles, often fan-shaped or slightly tapered. These brushes allow illuminant to be applied to specific points on the face, such as the cheekbones, cupid's bow and bridge of the nose. Smaller than blush brushes, these brushes are versatile and suitable for even the smallest areas of the face.

Eye Brushes: Precision and Detail

Eye Shadow Brushes
Eye brushes are essential for creating detailed and precise eye makeup. Eye shadow brushes include the flat brush, ideal for applying color to the eyelid, and the blending brush, perfect for blending and combining different shades. A good eye makeup brush set should also include a pencil brush, useful for applying eye shadow along the lash line or defining the outer corner of the eye.
Eyeliner and Eyebrow Brushes.
Eyeliner brushes, usually angled or very thin, allow you to apply gel or cream eyeliner with precision. For eyebrows, angled brushes are ideal for filling in and defining the shape, using powders or pomades.

Lip Brushes: Perfect Definition

Lip brushes are small and thin, designed to apply lipstick or gloss with precision. Using a lip brush allows you to perfectly outline and fill in lips evenly, avoiding smudging and ensuring longer-lasting product. Also useful for blending pencils for a lip-filling effect by applying a darker pencil on the contour and a lighter lipstick in the center.

How to Wash Makeup Brushes

Keeping brushes clean is essential to ensure long life and prevent the growth of bacteria. It is advisable to wash brushes at least once a week using a specific cleaner or mild soap. Here's how to do it:
1. Wet the bristles under warm water, avoiding getting the handle wet.
2. Apply the mild cleanser to the bristles and gently massage to remove accumulated makeup.
3. Rinse thoroughly until the water is clean.
4. Blot the bristles with a clean cloth and let the brushes dry horizontally or with the bristles pointing downward to prevent water from entering the handle or losing its original shape.
